In Memoriam: Tim Feerick

Tim Feerick

More sad news to share today as Dance Gavin Dance bassist Tim Feerick has passed away of undisclosed causes. He was only 34 years old. The news was shared via the band’s Twitter page.

“We are absolutely devastated to share the news that our friend and bass player, Tim Feerick, passed away last night,” they wrote on April 14th. “We ask that you respect our privacy and that of Tim’s family while we deal with this heartbreaking and untimely loss. We will share further updates on Swanfest and our upcoming touring schedule as soon as we have them.”

Feerick first joined Dance Gavin Dance in 2009 as a touring member following Jason Ellis’s departure. He was confirmed as a full-time member in 2012, going on to record on six of the band’s albums. Their latest was 2020’s Afterburner. Watch Ferrick’s play along to “Prisoner”:

So sad… my thoughts & prayers are with his family and the band. I only recently was turned on to DGD and this is one of only a couple of bands that have impressed the **** out of me. From tone, to groove, to melody these cats were doin it all!
