Paul Thompson: Michael Henderson Bass History (and The Illest Bass Break Ever)

Paul Thompson, who goes by pdbass on Youtube, posted a great bass history video the other day, focusing on the work of Michael Henderson.

“Rediscovering one of the legendary electric bassists, the great Michael Henderson, formerly of Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, the Dramatics, and Miles Davis, and his 1976 hit song with Norman Connors, ‘You Are My Starship’. I’ll dig into some facts behind this one-of-a-kind record and pick up the bass to analyze what Marcus Miller calls ‘the illest bass break ever!'”

Paul breaks down that break and more in this clip.
