Bass of the Week: Benevolent Basses Carnival 5

Benevolent Basses Carnival 5 Bass Body

Benevolent Basses has some pretty interesting designs, including the Carnival. The hollow body bass features beautiful curves, artistic sound holes, and three large wooden knobs for the controls.

This Carnival 5 has a flamed maple top with a walnut body. Its neck is made from maple and purpleheart with a Pau ferro fingerboard. Benevolent fits it with Acoustic soapbars by Mamapickups. Finally, the bass has Hipshot hardware and GHS strings.

There’s no demo of this particular bass, but you can hear a similar Carnival model in this clip:

How do I contact these luthiers like Jaeyoung Jung etc.? I’m looking to purchase a high end custom. I certainly appreciate your work in informing we bassists!
