Tedeschi Trucks Band Releases “I Am The Moon: II. Ascension”
The Tedeschi Trucks Band has unleashed the second installment of their epic I Am The Moon series of albums. I Am The Moon: II. Ascension continues the sonic journey, which is inspired by a mythic Persian tale of star-crossed lovers.
“It’s amazing,” says guitarist Derek Trucks, “because we wrote most of this music in a pretty short time span. There are even chord changes that mirror other tunes – themes and variations, lyrical allusions, that pop back up. You always want to do something bigger and thematic. This is the first time it happened naturally.”
Bassist Brandon Boone continues to lay down the low end for the band. From all-out jams to soulful ballads, his bass lines sit perfectly in the groove to support the song.
