Tumult: Bardamu

Buckle up, because this one is a roller coaster.

Tumult is a post-rock/jazz hybrid based in Amsterdam that features bassist Matteo Mazzù. He shared the video for his composition, “Tumult,” which he says was inspired by artists like Tortoise and Mr. Bungle, Chris Morrissey, and ADHD.

It starts with a frenetic groove before diving off the deep end into an all-out musical freakout. Things even out into a feeling of serenity with Mazzù finding creative movement from chord to chord. As is often the case on and off the bandstand, the drummer leads the band back into their wild energy for a big finish.
