Ernie Ball Music Man Introduces 2022 Short Scale StingRay Models

Ernie Ball Music Man Limited Edition Short Scale StingRay 2022 Basses

Ernie Ball Music Man has refreshed the Short Scale StingRay with a limited edition, including five new finishes. Limited to 125 instruments worldwide, the 30-inch scale basses will come in Candy Man, Plum Crazy, Burnt Ends, Silver Shadow, and Vincent Blue colors.

The new run will have many familiar features, such as an ash body, a roasted maple neck, 22 stainless steel frets, and a modern classic bridge. EBMM offers a choice of ebony, rosewood, or maple fretboards depending on the selected finish.

Each model is fitted with a passive humbucker that the company says offers a higher output thanks to neodymium magnets. The pickups were designed specifically for the short scale model to provide “signature warm tone.” A three-way rotary switch lets you select between parallel, true single-coil, and series modes. Finally, the volume pot has a boost when pushed.

The Ernie Ball Music Man Limited Edition Short Scale StingRay basses are available now exclusively through the Ernie Ball Music Man Vault. They all carry a street price of $2,399.
