An.Kara: Mucha

Bassist Audun Ramo and his band An.Kara are gearing up to release a new album on November 26th, and they’ve dropped a few performance videos to prep fans. The trio is completed by violinist Sebastian Gruchot and percussionist Arild Nyborg, and together they bring together sonic flavors from around the world.

“A little about the band name: Ankara is obviously the capital of Turkey, but ‘kara’ also means something like ‘dudes’ with the dialect from a rural area of Norway; Hallingdal,” Ramo explains. “So this is kind of folky music with inspirations from different places.”

Ramo’s slap technique and melodic sensibilities help drive the music while locking in with Nyborg’s rhythm.
