Bass of the Week: Otto Bass Design Otto 5

This week, we’re featuring a gorgeous bass built by Osman Alkan of Otto Bass Design. Made in Turkey, this Otto 5 caught my eye with its Pacific quilted maple and resin hybrid top, but there are plenty of amazing features beyond that.
The bass has a 35-inch scale and a headless design with blue Otto hardware for the tuners. Its quarter-sawn flamed maple neck has an asymmetrical profile for comfort, while its Pau Ferro fingerboard has a 14-inch radius. The 24 frets also have a zero fret and are left unmarked. Finally, Alkan fitted it with a pair of Bartolini pickups matched to a Delano preamp.
