Ernie Ball Music Man Ball Family Reserve Nitro StingRay Retro '76 Bass

Ernie Ball Music Man is gearing up for the NAMM Show, where the industry introduces new models and offerings for the year. However, they’ve unveiled the latest in their limited edition Ball Family Reserve instruments. The Spring 2023 drop includes three guitars and one bass – the Ball Family Reserve StingRay Retro ’76.

“The all-new Stingray Retro ’76 is loaded with many vintage-inspired specifications celebrating Music Man’s 70’s era of American craftsmanship,” the company writes. “This Stingray BFR edition features a beautiful nitro-finished 3-tone Sunburst ash body with vast black, yellow, and red swatches, capturing the look and feel of Music Man’s flagship 4-string bass.”

EBMM reproduced a vintage feel by using the StingRay’s original specs, including an ash body, maple neck with 21 frets, an Alnico-loaded humbucking pickup, and a strings-thru-the-body-bridge with adjustable mute pads.

The Ernie Ball Music Man Ball Family Reserve Nitro StingRay Retro ’76 is available through select dealers for $3,499.
