Aerosmith Announces “Peace Out” Farewell Tour

Aerosmith

Fifty-three years after they first formed in Boston, the legendary rock band Aerosmith has announced their final tour. The “Peace Out” farewell run is slated to begin in September and run into 2024. Aerosmith will be joined by The Black Crowes for the whole run, meaning fans will be treated to the bass work of Tom Hamilton and Sven Pipien each night.

“It’s not goodbye it’s PEACE OUT!” Aerosmith shared in a joint statement. “Get ready and walk this way, you’re going to get the best show of our lives.”

The tour begins on September 2nd in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and will work its way across the U.S. and Canada to end up in Montreal on January 26th. According to a press release, founding drummer Joey Kramer will not be on the outing.

‘“While Joey Kramer remains a beloved founding member of Aerosmith, he has regrettably made the decision to sit out the currently scheduled touring dates to focus his full attention on his family and health. Joey’s unmistakable and legendary presence behind the drum kit will be sorely missed.”

Aerosmith’s catalog has some unshakeable bass lines, but Hamilton’s intro on “Sweet Emotion” has to be one of the most covered rock bass lines of all time. Check out this live clip from 2011:
