Kool & The Gang Announce New Album

Kool & The Gang: People Just Wanna Have FunR&B legends Kool & The Gang have been keeping the party going for nearly 60 years, and they’re not stopping. The band has announced a new album called People Just Wanna Have Fun, which is due out July 14th and features founding members Robert “Kool” Bell and George “Funky” Brown getting down over fifteen tracks.

Kool & the Gang have sold 70 million albums worldwide and are known for their hits “Celebration”, “Ladies Night”, “Get Down On It”, “Hollywood Swinging”, and more. Bassist and bandleader Bell states that the record can be viewed a summation of their career.

“You’ve got the funk, you’ve got the jazzier tracks, we have a few ballads on there. Then there are songs that cross over to a pop sort of thing,” he says. “We go from the ‘70s, the ’80s, right into now. It’s old school, it’s new school — we kinda captured it all here. With all our music over the years, people have had fun. So I’d say this album just about sums it all up.”
