Doug Wimbish Anchors Dave Koltai Debut Album, “Daughter of Mercury”

Dave Koltai: Daughter of MercuryYou may recognize Dave Koltai as the sound designer for Supro and Pigtronix, but he’s also a fantastic musician. The guitarist and producer has just released his solo debut album, Daughter of Mercury, and he brought the fire for it.

Koltai developed the music with Living Colour’s rhythm section of drummer Will Calhoun and bassist Doug Wimbish. Vocalist Monique Teichert joins the trio to weave songs of personal loss and rebirth.

“This world-renowned rhythm section brings a visceral, crackling energy to ‘Daughter of Mercury,’ wrapping their signature heavy funk around Koltai and Monique’s psychedelic alt-rock sound,” a press release explains.
