Matt Freeman Tears It Up on Rancid’s New Album, “Tomorrow Never Comes”
Rancid’s 10th studio album, Tomorrow Never Comes, has just been released, but it’s already heralded as one of their best. Over thirty years into their career, it’s clear the punk icons haven’t lost an ounce of energy as they tear through the album’s 16 tracks.
A big part of their ferocity comes from the bass lines of Matt Freeman, who drives the rhythm with blistering eighth notes and melodic runs. He has several standout moments from the album, but check out his intro to “Eddie the Butcher”:
Tomorrow Never Comes is available now on CD, vinyl, and as a digital download (iTunes and Amazon MP3). Rancid is currently on tour in Europe, with a handful of North American dates slated for September. See below for tour details.
