Warm Audio Recreates the Swirling ’70s With the Mutation Phasor II Pedal
Warm Audio has expanded its lineup with a new pedal called the Mutation Phasor II, which is a recreation of a famous phaser from the 1970s. The company says it lets you “add depth, wobble, swirl, or ‘instant funk’ to guitar, keys, bass, or anything you can dream of.”
Its circuit is a “true-to-spec” recreation of the original down to its RC4558P op-amps, vintage-style diodes, carbon resistors, and film caps. The Mutation Phasor II also has the same control layout. Depth sets the width of the sweep range, Rate sets the phase-shifting effect, and Feedback adds electric feedback to the wet signal. “Increasing the feedback control creates a more intense phase sound with a particular emphasis on the sweeps, especially noticeable at slower rate settings,” the company notes.
The Warm Audio Mutation Phasor II is available now for $149.
