Dogstar, Featuring Keanu Reeves, Announces New Album and Tour
Many photos of Keanu Reeves playing bass have been floating around the internet for years, and now there will be more. The movie star and bassist’s band, Dogstar, just released their first new song in 20 years. They’ve also announced a new album and an extensive tour that will take them across the U.S., Canada, and Japan.
“Everything Turns Around” is the first single off of Somewhere Between The Power Lines and Palm Trees, which is set to be released on October 6th.
“We are so excited to re-introduce Dogstar with our new single ‘Everything Turns Around,’” the band shared. “It feels like a fun summer song to us. It has an uplifting message and a positive vibe that hopefully makes your day a little bit lighter. It’s one of our favorite songs to play live and can’t wait to share it on our upcoming tour.”
Dogstar also consists of drummer Robert Mailhouse and vocalist/guitarist Bret Domrose. In an interview with Kyle Meredith, the band said the upcoming album is tied together by a central feeling. “Each song has its own individuality and its own story, a beginning, middle, and an end, or a context,” Reeves said. “When I was looking at the lyrics, it felt like it was from this one point of view but different versions of the same point of view. Like how we all are: There’s one relationship like this, this is one thing I look for or yearn for, this is another thing that happened to me. So it felt like it had a central character, but just different parts of that character in life, emotionally.”
Dogstar’s tour kicks off August 10th in California and will spend the month on the West Coast. They’ll head to Japan for three dates during September before picking things up in November and December.
