Brian Bromberg Releases “The Magic of Moonlight”
Bass virtuoso Brian Bromberg has returned with a new solo album called The Magic of Moonlight. His previous release, A Little Driving Music, offered music with a breezy feeling, but Moonlight has more of a mystical quality.
“There’s a little bit of mystique in the moonlight,” Bromberg notes. “This album has some mysterious vibes and spirituality along with the feel-good, positive energy, so the name just seemed to fit.”
One of the album’s more upbeat tunes is its first single, “Nico’s Groove,” which pays homage to his late friend Nick Colionne. “The song is full of life and energy, which really sums Nick up,” Bromberg says. “It felt good to be able to dedicate something to him because he was such a sweetheart of a cat.”
The Magic of Moonlight is out now on CD and digital formats (iTunes and Amazon MP3). Bromberg has a few dates lined up for the rest of the year, so check them out below.
