Sterling By Music Man Introduces Pete Wentz Signature Model
After introducing their own version of the DarkRay, Sterling by Music Man has introduced a new signature model for Pete Wentz. The Fall Out Boy bassist’s new Artist Series StingRay marks SBMM’s first full-scale passive bass and is fitted with an Alnico V humbucker for “vintage-style warmth and punch.”
Other features include black hardware, an anodized gold pickguard, and a custom loon inlay at the 12th fret. The loon reflects Wentz’s childhood summers spent in Vermont.
“A lot of my design references were watches or skateboards, and things that I am just attracted to design-wise,” Wentz noted. “I’m a very visual person… I feel like starting with simplicity and the best ingredients is the way to go.”
The Pete Wentz Artist Series StingRay Bass by Sterling by Music Man comes in black and Fiesta Red finishes with a price of $649.99. The company also teamed up with Reverb to launch the model with a limited-edition autographed bass, limited to 50 instruments.
