Julien’s Auctions Announces “The Collection of Dusty Hill of ZZ Top Part II”

The Collection of Dusty Hill of ZZ Top Part II

Last month, Julien’s Auctions sold off a great deal of late ZZ Top bassist Dusty Hill‘s basses, wardrobe, and memorabilia. Now the event has an encore as they’ve announced “The Collection of Dusty Hill of ZZ Top Part II.” The auction will be held on January 31st and will feature over 180 lots from Hill’s estate.

“[This auction includes] Dusty Hill’s remaining most personal items; showstopping wardrobe including his vintage concert T-shirts; performance jackets including custom pieces by Manuel and Jaime custom tailoring; designer items by John Varvatos, Issey Miyake and Hugo Boss; personalized sports jerseys of Hill’s many favorite sports teams such as the Chicago Cubs, Tampa Bay Lighting and Ottawa Senators; and the last chance to bid and own one of Hill’s most iconic bass guitars.”

The previous auction included Hill’s 1953 Precision Bass, which racked up a whopping $393,700 to make it the second highest selling bass guitar ever sold at auction. Basses up for grabs at this sale include a 2010 Bolin Gretsch Style Bo Diddley Fur Bass, a Fender Custom Shop P-Bass, a pair of acoustic bass guitars, and a collection of interesting instruments by Bolin Guitars.
