Mercyful Fate Confirms New Bassist
Mercyful Fate recently announced they were parting ways with Joey Vera. Fans had a clue as to their next bassist, and it turns out they were right.
The Danish heavy metal band revealed their new master of the low-end is Becky Baldwin, who toured with them in 2022. The band shared the news with a group photo and a statement from her.
“It is a great honour to now be a permanent member of Mercyful Fate,” she said. “I can’t wait to join the recording of the new album. When I performed as a stand-in on the 2022 USA tour, the acceptance and encouragement from the fans was exceptional. A huge thanks to the band, team and fans for the warm welcome. See you in Chile and Brazil this coming April.”
Baldwin hails from Birmingham, England and is noted as one of the UK’s busiest metal bassists. She’s been posting some Mercyful Fate playthroughs, so if you haven’t seen her yet check out this video of “The Oath”:
Mercyful Fate’s next performances are scheduled for Santiago, Chile on April 22nd and Sao Paolo, Brazil on April 26th.
