Victor Bailey Group: “Behind the Stage” Performance (2000)
No Treble reader Zvonimir Bucevic has graciously shared with us a rare gem – a video featuring the legendary Victor Bailey and his group performing in Ljubljana on April 6, 2000.
Zvonimir said the session was recorded “in a TV studio – the television show ‘Brane Ron?el – Izza Odra (Behind the Stage),’ which was shown for 15 years on Slovenian national television, on the 2nd program of RTV SLO. Brane Ron?el is a Slovenian radio and television host, concert organizer, excellent connoisseur, and promoter of jazz music. The initial letters of his first and last name can be seen in the upper left corner of the screen.”
“The video was digitally transferred from my old analog VHS video tape, found in a box left in basement of my house, and the original mono sound was remastered,” he added.
The band included the stellar lineup of Dennis Chambers on drums, David Fiuczynski on guitar, Jim Beard on keyboards, and Kenny Garrett on saxes.
The video includes three songs:
