The Omnific: Will-O’-The-Wisp

Dual-bass prog trio The Omnific is releasing a new album, The Law of Augmenting Returns, on June 7th. Leading up to the launch, they’ve posted a video for their song “Will-O’-The-Wisp,” which they say proves to be their most progressive song to date.

The core of the band – bassists Matt Fack and Toby Peterson-Stewart with drummer Jerome Lematua – expanded their sound by adding keyboardist Rohan Sharma, trombonist Pranav Roy, and double bassist Joshua Verco. They even experimented with adding a Fender Bass VI to the mix.

“This song features quite a different sonic sound, when it comes to what we have done in the past, introducing many themes that we haven’t completely explored,” Peterson-Stewart says. “This is the first Omnific song to feature a “Guitar,” the Fender Bass VI. It required six hands for us to fathom recording a guitar on one of our songs!”

The band also went all out for a mystical video for the song.
