The Omnific Release “The Law of Augmenting Returns”

The Omnific: The Law of Augmenting ReturnsThe Omnific has returned with their second studio album, The Law of Augmenting Returns, which sees the Australian prog rock trio expanding on their sound. The two-bass three-piece – featuring drummer Jerome Lematua with bassists Matt Fack and Toby Peterson-Stewart – focused on new instrumentation, including a Bass VI, a fretless bass with an eBow, Trumpet, Trombone, and even vocals.

“‘The Law Of Augmenting Returns’ is the culmination of the experience and knowledge learnt and embodied in the 8 years of our existence as a band. With our creative mindset to incorporate new ideas adhered to the core principle of bass, this album paints the story of the band’s past, present, and beyond.”

The album has special guest appearances by Tim Waurick, Luke Taylor, and keyboardist Rohan Sharma. They also tapped bassists Charles Berthoud and Kai den Hertog to unleash some killer solos on the title track.

“Charles Berthoud’s involvement on the track showcases the highest of ability bass can be played, to Kai den Hertog’s orchestration of a bass solo that is as complex as it is energetic,” says Fack.
