Steve Harris and British Lion Announce Tour Dates
Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris has announced a run of international tour dates with his side project, British Lion. The outing includes 11 dates with stops in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and the United States. It’ll be a great opportunity for fans to see the metal icon up close in small to medium-sized venues.
“I’m very lucky that I can play all types of gigs; massive gigs and small ones as well,” Harris said in a 2020 interview with Bass Player Magazine. “It’s a change. I’m not trying to conquer the world with this band; there’s not enough years left in me to do that anyway.”
British Lion will begin with five dates in Australia from August 31st to September 11th. After a performance in Auckland, New Zealand, at Paraoa Brewing, Harris and company will play two shows in Japan. They’ll visit the U.S. in October, with three shows in California, and will make an appearance at the Aftershock Festival on October 10th.
“We’re really excited to be able to play our first ever shows in Australia and New Zealand,” Harris says. “We’ve been to the U.S. before, but this is our first time to the West Coast! And to top it off, we’ll also be returning to Japan to complete what I’m sure will be a fantastic tour! We look forward to seeing you all on the road!”
The band has released two albums: British Lion in 2012 and The Burning in 2020. Check out the music video for “Legend”:
