It’s another sad day for the bass world. Former Spiritbox bassist Bill Crook has died of undisclosed causes. His friend and A Textbook Tragedy bandmate Kai Turmann shared the news.

“Hi everyone. I have some absolutely devastating news to share. I’m so profoundly sad to say that our dear friend Bill Crook has passed away,” he wrote on Instagram. “He was a friend to so many, and a dear friend to me since we were children. Bill was, and is, loved by so many people, and I’m so incredibly sorry to have to share this devastating information with you. There will be many words and many tears, but for now I just need to get the terrible news out. Im so sorry. I love you all. I love you Bill.”

Crook is best known for his time in Spiritbox, of which he was a member from 2018 to 2022. The band announced a split with him in 2022, citing a mutual decision with no hard feelings. The bassist had most recently been working with Underoath’s Aaron Gillespie on new music.
