Fender Introduces Cobalt Chrome Bass Pickup Sets
Fender has unveiled a new line of pickups called the Cobalt Chrome Bass Pickup sets. Designed by tone expert Tim Shaw, the sets feature a proprietary blend of FeCrCo magnets for a rich tone.
“Cobalt Chrome magnets bring added punch, hi-fi clarity, and dynamic range that players will be inspired by while still offering the sweet low end and thump produced by the original electric bass,” they write. “The distinctive-looking chrome-ringed cover acts as a shield to help eliminate 60-cycle hum, making these pickups a remarkably true and quiet split-coil option.”
As you may expect, Fender is offering a new design for a Jazz Bass set, a Precision pickup, and a P/J pickup set. Other features of the line include adjustable pole pieces and a Formvar magnet wire. All installation hardware is included.
The Fender Cobalt Chrome Pickup Sets are available now, with prices ranging from $249.99 to $299.99.
