Darkglass Electronics Unveils the Luminal Booster Ultra Pedal

Darkglass Electronics Luminal Booster Ultra Pedal

Darkglass Electronics is best known for its gritty, overdriven tones. However, it’s “come clean” with the new Luminal Booster Ultra, a bass-specific pedal that combines the tone of its Harmonic Booster with parallel compressions, a 6-band EQ, a gain reduction meter, and IR capabilities.

The top row of controls includes a lowpass Filter for the compressed signal, a COMP knob for setting the compression, a Blend for mixing clean and compressed signal, and a Level knob for dialing in the amount of level after the blend control. The six-band EQ sits in the center of the pedal with sliders at 80Hz, 250Hz, 500Hz, 1.5kHz, 3kHz, and 5kHz. A master fader sets the overall volume of the unit.

“Added controls include a +/- 20dB BOOST, a CHARACTER control to allow selection between seven Impulse Responses, a MID GAIN +/- 20dB, and MID FREQUENCY from 250Hz to 2.5kHz,” a press release explains.

For connectivity, Darkglass provides traditional 1/4-inch input and outputs, a 3.5mm Aux input, a stereo headphone out, a balanced XLR direct out, and a USB C for connecting to external devices to utilize the Darkglass Suite. The pedal runs on a 9V DC power supply.

The Darkglass Luminal Booster Ultra has a street price of $499.
