Johnny Cox Releases “101 Walking Jazz Bass Lines” Instructional Book

101 Walking Jazz Bass Lines

Fundamental Changes has published a new book by bassist Johnny Cox. 101 Walking Jazz Bass Lines is dubbed a “complete guide to creating fluid, articulate basslines for all essential jazz progressions.”

“Whether you’re a beginner or an exceptional player, this book will help you break free from repetitive patterns and develop your own unique voice as a jazz bassist,” Cox shares.

The 83-page book has step-by-step instructions to navigate changes by learning chord tones, using chromaticism and passing notes, syncopation, chord inversions, and advanced techniques. With those skills, you’ll be able to walk on ii-V-I patterns, jazz blues changes, modal changes, rhythm changes, and more.

In addition to the book, 101 Walking Jazz Bass Lines comes with free downloadable audio for every example in the book so you can practice your timing, feel, and groove.

101 Walking Jazz Bass Lines is available now in paperback and Kindle editions.
