Wilco’s Southern Tour with Waxahatchee Marks a Hometown Return for John Stirratt
Wilco and Waxahatchee are teaming up for a spring tour that will take them across the southern United States. The run will take them from Florida at the end of April to Kentucky in mid-May before Wilco splits off for a European tour in June.
Wilco bassist John Stirratt, who grew up outside of New Orleans, shared his excitement for the tour on Instagram. “Fun times ahead down south,” he wrote. “First time to play The Saenger Theatre in the old hometown.”
Waxahatchee is an indie project headed by Katie Crutchfield. She is joined by bass great Eliana Athayde, also known for her work with Jacaranda, Pomplamoose, Tim Heidecker, and more. Check out her playing and excellent harmony vocals in this recent Tiny Desk Concert:
