Julia Hofer Explores Meshell Ndegeocello’s Groove in a Must-Watch Cover of “The Way”
Julia Hofer is back with a new bass cover, and this time, she’s tackling a bassist she hasn’t covered before – the legendary Meshell Ndegeocello.
In this clip, Julia takes on “The Way,” a track from Meshell’s second studio album, Peace Beyond Passion, released in 1996. The song features sections with two bass parts, so Julia improvises to fill in those moments.
Sharing her admiration for Meshell’s musicianship, Julia highlights what makes her playing so special: “Her groove, her phrasing, but most of all, her creativity.”
