Harley Benton’s New MSB-5 Bass Brings Multi-Scale Design to the Masses for $299

Harley Benton has introduced the MSB-5, a new bass in its lineup. The five-string bass has a multi-scale design from 33.3 inches to 35 inches, offering balanced string tension for “articulate lows and crisp highs.”
The MSB-5 is crafted with an okoume body topped with flame burl maple, a five-piece roasted Canadian maple and okoume neck, and an amaranth fingerboard. Harley Benton fits the bass with a pair of HBZ custom wound Ferrite humbuckers fed into an active 3-band EQ. The volume control has a push/pull function for switching between active and passive operation.
Other features include a Rising BA-1011 Fingertail bridge, Jinho die-cast tuners, and black DLX hardware. It’s offered in Amethyst Sparkle, Emerald Sparkle, Black Flame Burl, and Flip Flop Blue finishes.
The Harley Benton MSB-5 is expected to ship in April with a price point of $299.
