Mike Watt and mssv Drop “On and On” – A Sonic Journey Fueled by Endless Touring

The trio of Mike Baggetta, Stephen Hodges, and Mike Watt – aka mssv – have been full steam ahead since their debut studio album, Main Steam Stop Valve, in 2020. They’ve played sprawling months-long tours and release two albums. This year they’re continuing with solid tour dates from now through May. They’ve also dropped their third studio album, On and On.
Watt, who is known for highly influential playing with The Minutemen and other punk pioneers, is no stranger to the road. He shared the band’s tour dates with a message for fans.
“We hope to kick up much dust and wanna bring it to gig-goers and listeners who need minds blown, one at time,” he said. “We’re gonna try to make ourselves available for that as much as possible anyhow and where we can. Open minds will be big time appreciated!”
In celebration of the album’s release, mssv has shared a new animated video for the track “Boat Song.” The trippy, open atmosphere has a simple, floating bass line from Watt. He also gives a sort of soliloquy in the middle of the song.
On and On is out now on CD, vinyl, and digitally on Bandcamp as well as streaming on other services like Apple Music and Amazon Music. See below for mssv’s intense tour schedule.
On and On Track List:
