Bassist Lawrence Haber Steps Into the Spotlight with His Composition “Gia”
Our friend Tony Senatore sent this video our way, along with this note:
“I’ve encouraged [Lawrence Haber] to step out as a leader rather than focusing on being a sideman.”
Here’s Lawrence performing his original composition, “Gia,” joined by Arne Wendt on keys, Duke Clement on drums, Dan Perez on sax, Conor McCarthy on guitar, and Karttikeya on percussion.
I especially love Lawrence’s solo on the fretless.

I love this song. It reminds me of the late 70s fusion I grew up on. Your playing and solo remind me of Mark Egan, a great favorite of mine, and the composition reminds me of Pat Metheny. Congratulations. Keep going.
VERY NICE
