Bass of the Week: This Boutique Bass Will Stop You In Your Tracks

This week, we’re checking out another bass that brought my scrolling to a screeching halt. This Locus bass by the Nichols Guitar Company is built with a Black Limba body and a Buckeye Burl top.
The carbon-reinforced neck is built with wenge and purpleheart. Luthier Evan Nichols made it with a multi-scale design from 33 to 34.5 inches. Its fingerboard is wenge with buckeye burl block inlays. Look closely and you’ll notice it has a whopping 26 frets!
Nichols ties things together by using wenge for its custom bridge with Hipshot saddles and the covers over the Nordstrand Big Single pickups.
