Andrew Gouché and Markbass Unveil “Godfather of Gospel” Basses with Noiseless Pickups

Markbass Andrew Gouche GV GOG Bass Series

Markbass has collaborated with gospel legend Andrew Gouché to create the GV GOG (Godfather of Gospel) line of basses. The series includes four and five-string options and two colorways: Red Passion and Blue Sky. As part of their GV line, the instruments aim to bring high quality at an affordable price.

The GV GOG features passive electronics, so a key element is their new pickup design.

“The GV GOG (Godfather of Gospel) basses, approved by Markbass top-artist Andrew Gouchè, feature two new J-style Markbass Noiseless pickups that are very touch-responsive, giving a super defined and accurate tone without hum noise even if selected one at time, with separate volume control for each of them and a simple tone (low-pass filter) control to roll off highs,” Markbass writes.

The basses are crafted with alder bodies, maple necks, and the option of a maple or rosewood fingerboard. Both options have block inlays to mark their 20 frets. Finally, Markbass ships the GV GOG with a gig bag.

The Markbass GV GOG basses have a TBD price point, although all GV Series basses fall under $1,000.
