Death By Audio Unveils Crossover Fuzz Pedal with Dual-Band Tone Control

Death By Audio Crossover Fuzz Black and White

Death By Audio has unveiled the Crossover Fuzz, a new pedal that splits your tone into high and low frequencies so they can be treated separately. The dual-band fuzz features linked resonant filters as well as independent gain and volume controls for each frequency band.

“By splitting your signal into highs and lows, the Crossover Fuzz allows you to sculpt frequencies, annihilate them, or sling them across amps in stereo for massive, spatial tone,” DBA states. “CV/expression control enables you to sweep the crossover in real time, turning EQ into an instrument of its own. From subtle tone-shaping to oscillating chaos, this is fuzz re-engineered for the future.”

In addition to the Crossover Fuzz, Death By Audio has introduced the Photo Modulator. The unit replaces a traditional expression pedal with a light sensor, sweeping your parameters depending on the amount of light being received by the passive photoresistor circuit. “No batteries required, no fuss – just pure, reactive chaos in a device the size of a right-angle jack,” DBA says.

You can hear the pedal on bass, guitar, vocals, and drum machine in the company’s demo. The Photo Modulator appears around the 2:30 mark.

The Death By Audio Crossover Fuzz is available now in Black as well as a limited edition white version exclusive to Reverb. It has a retail price of $320. The Photo Modulator is also out now for $39.
