Virtuosity Meets Vision: DarWin Drops “Rising Distortion” Ahead of New Album
DarWin’s new single “Rising Distortion” kicks off their upcoming album with serious intensity. The four piece lineup includes DarWin, Simon Phillips, Greg Howe, and Mohini Dey. Together they deliver a tightly wound instrumental that wastes no time getting into high gear.
Mohini’s playing is ferocious and fluid. She’s on her Mayones Commodus Classic V with Aguilar pickups. Her tone stays punchy and clear even when the band is going full throttle.
She moves between groove and lead work with ease, locking in with Phillips while trading lines with Howe. Every phrase is tight. The bass playthrough gives a closer look at the detail and drive behind her performance.
“Rising Distortion” is the first single from the upcoming album Distorted Mirror, which lands September 26. It’s heavy. It’s smart. And Mohini brings the low end with total authority.
