That Bass Line You Can’t Forget? Nathan East Made It Feel Effortless on “Bad Love”

Here’s one that just surfaced on Eric Clapton’s official YouTube channel. It’s an older video for “Bad Love” from Clapton’s Journeyman era, and it features a powerhouse lineup.

Nathan East is holding down the low end with his usual taste and precision, playing a Fender Precision Bass. His tone and feel give this track its weight and warmth, locking in perfectly with Phil Collins on drums.

It’s always a treat to see this band in action. Clapton is in peak form here, but it’s Nathan’s groove that makes everything sit just right.

Enjoy.

Great article! I always thought that was Pino Palladino on the fretless.
