Guy Pratt Elevates David Gilmour’s “Fat Old Sun” Live in Rome

Guy Pratt brings the low end goodness once again in this live take of “Fat Old Sun” from David Gilmour’s show at Circus Maximus in Rome. He is on his trusty Fender P Bass running through Ashdown amps and the tone is exactly what you want for a song that starts gentle and ends up rocking hard.

The tune opens with Gilmour on acoustic and the whole band keeping things light. Guy sits right in the pocket with that warm round sound. Then about halfway through Gilmour grabs the electric and the switch flips. The band comes alive the volume jumps and Guy digs in with a fuller more driving feel. His P Bass and Ashdown setup fill out the mix in a way that lets the whole thing lift off.
