Eric Richardson Releases Beginner Worship Bass Guide “Your First Steps Beyond Roots”

Your First Steps Beyond Roots Book Cover

Bassist Eric Richardson has released a new book for beginner worship bass players. Your First Steps Beyond Roots aims to expand your vocabulary without becoming distracting or overplaying.

“Written for adults who are currently playing (or preparing to play) bass in contemporary worship settings, the short ebook is designed specifically for ‘root-note’ church bassists who want to add simple, tasteful movement while still serving the song,” Richardson writes. “Rather than focusing on complex music theory or flashy technique, Your First Steps Beyond Roots takes a gentle, step-by-step approach that emphasizes real-world worship musicianship, confidence, and musical support. The guide assumes basic familiarity with the instrument and avoids technical language, making it accessible to volunteer and congregational musicians of any age.”

The ebook is just 28 pages long and is written to be concise and easily understood. Richardson also disabled DRM, allowing worship leaders and churches to share the book with their teams.

Your First Steps Beyond Roots: Contemporary Worship Bass Made Easy! is available now via Amazon for just $3.
