Bassist Mohini Dey in Peak Form as Spirit Fingers Trio Ignite “Nails”

The Spirit Fingers Trio just dropped a live clip from JammJam, and this one hits hard.

The trio features bassist Mohini Dey, drummer Blaque Dynamite, and pianist Greg Spero performing the tune “Nails.” This is part of the group’s live session series, and the chemistry is obvious from the first note.

Mohini is playing her go to Mayones Comodous 5, and she is in top form. Her tone is clear and focused and is locked tightly with Blaque. The lines are fast, intricate, and fearless. This trio is fire!  The tune leans heavily into progressive jazz with shifting meters and tight unison passages that demand precision from everyone on stage. There is no passenger here. Each player pushes and responds in real time, and the intensity never drops.
