This Creston Electric Creature Bass Is a Short-Scale Monster
This week we’re checking out a monstrous short-scale from Creston Electric Instruments. The Creature Bass was built for Brian Saunders with a salvaged spruce body, quartersawn maple neck, and an Indian Rosewood fingerboard. It has a short 30-inch scale that matches its retro burst finish and offset body.
Creston fitted the bass with a pair of Curtis Novak Hofner Staple pickups with a simple volume/volume control layout. The bass also has custom artwork by Sarah Ryan, who painted a dog on the heel of the neck.
Creston Electric Instruments are made in Burlington, Vermont.
