Vincen García’s Full North Sea Jazz 2026 Set Is a Must-Watch

Vincen García took the stage at the 2026 North Sea Jazz Festival with his band and delivered more than an hour of his signature progressive funk fusion. The performance took place on July 10 in the Netherlands with García joined by Victor Jimenez on saxophone, Manuel Pardo on trumpet, Andoni Narvaez on guitar, and Benjamin Wirjosemito on drums.

García is such a unique bassist. There really is no one else who plays quite like this. His combination of deep grooves, ridiculous technique, melodic playing, and rhythmic ideas gives his music a sound all its own. The set also comes as García tours behind his second album, VIVACE, released earlier this year.

For the show, García is playing his custom Yamaha BBP34 through an Ampeg rig. Yamaha lists the BBP34 among García’s instruments, while his touring rig has included an Ampeg SVT head and a SVT 8×10 cabinet.  I personally caught with Vincen when he was in Chicago, check out this clip from soundcheck.

This one is worth setting aside some time for.
