Want to Join Pestilence? The Metal Veterans Are Looking for a New Bassist
If you’re looking for a new gig, you might be in luck. After a shakeup last year, Dutch metal band Pestilence is searching for a new bass player. Founder, lead singer, and guitarist Patrizio Mameli posted the news on Facebook, stating they’re looking for a dedicated bassist who plays fingerstyle five- or six-string bass. He also listed the requirements for anyone who is interested.
“With new music, international touring and major plans ahead, we’re looking for someone who:
- Has excellent technique and timing
- Understands music theory
- Learns material quickly
- Speaks English fluently
- Has professional touring experience
- Has high-quality gear and understands bass equipment, amps and effects
- Maintains a healthy lifestyle and is physically fit for the demands of touring
- Is available for international touring
- Is professional, reliable and fully committed”
Mameli adds that applicants must be based in Europe, preferably in The Netherlands. If you’re interested, send an introduction, performance videos and location to [email protected].
Pestilence formed in 1986 and have released nine albums. Their tenth album, Portals is expected in 2026. Bassist Roel Käller left the band in 2025 and was replaced by Dario Rudić. There has been no official announcement of Rudić’s departure.
