Aria’s Cliff Burton Signature Bass Is Finally Shipping Worldwide
Aria Guitars unveiled the Aria Pro II SB-CLB Cliff Burton Signature Bass at the 2026 Winter NAMM Show, where it garnered lots of attention. Now, the tribute bass is shipping worldwide.
The model recreates the SB-1000 that the bass icon played in the early days of Metallica, which Aria explains helped to define a generation of heavy music.
“Every detail has been carefully restored to capture the tone, feel, and appearance of Cliff’s original instrument,” they write. “From the distinctive body shape and high-output active circuit to the solid neck through construction, this limited edition model delivers the unmistakable punch and sustain that made the SB series legendary.”
The Aria Pro II SB-CLB Cliff Burton Signature is built with an ash body, 7-piece maple and walnut neck, and a rosewood fingerboard. The company fit it with the original QHB-1 brass bridge and the BB Circuit, a low-pass filter with six presets to dramatically shape your tone.
Burton’s signature is inscribed on the back of the headstock. One thing that wasn’t revealed at NAMM was the original gig bag, which also sports Burton’s signature.

The Aria Pro II SB-CLB Cliff Burton Signature is a limited edition instrument for 2026, with Bass Central reporting that there are only 300 units worldwide. It’s available now for $1,999.
