This Full Foo Fighters Concert Is a Great Reminder of How Good Nate Mendel Is

Foo Fighters wrapped up their 2026 European summer run with a massive set at NOS Alive in Portugal on July 10th.

The band took the stage at 10:45 p.m. and played for more than two and a half hours, delivering a 24 song set that covered a huge chunk of their catalog.

We had our eyes on Nate Mendel. He was rocking his signature Fender Precision Bass (& many other basses through out the show) and holding everything together with that unmistakable, no nonsense approach. Fender modeled the bass after Mendel’s beloved 1971 Precision, complete with a slim neck, Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound pickup and high mass bridge.

The show included “All My Life,” “The Pretender,” “Rope,” “Stacked Actors,” “My Hero,” “Monkey Wrench,” “Best of You,” and “Everlong.” There was also a little “Ace of Spades” during “No Son of Mine,” plus a band introduction medley that found Dave Grohl back behind the drums while Ilan Rubin picked up a guitar. One of the more touching moments came with “Aurora,” which Grohl dedicated to Taylor Hawkins.

Two and a half hours is a commitment but its worth it.  If youre short on time, I would start HERE.
