Brent Harding Brings the Grit on Social Distortion’s “Tonight”

Social Distortion are still grinding it out with the same hard worn edge that made them one of punk rock’s most enduring bands. For their Apple Music Sessions set they ripped through six songs, including this version of “Tonight.”

Brent Harding is driving the song with a thick, no nonsense bass sound. He appears to be playing a vintage Fender Precision Bass and the tone is punchy, rough around the edges and completely locked to the song.

“Tonight” comes from Social Distortion’s eighth studio album, Born To Kill, which arrived in May. The album was their first new studio record in fifteen years and the band has spent much of 2026 taking those songs back to the stage.

This one is classic Social D. Crank it up!
