U2 Announces First Stadium Tour Since 2019, Shares New Single

U2 has announced a new world tour called “Carnaval De Luz presents: The Greatest Show On Earth,” marking the iconic rock band’s first return to a stadium setting since 2019. The global endeavor will support their upcoming album, Carnaval de Luz, dropping November 13th.
The quartet of Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. named the tour according to their ambition.
“‘The Greatest Show on Earth’? Now that’s a throwdown. It’s a dare, to ourselves as much as anyone, to try and have the best night of anybody’s life,” they shared. “A bit of showman, a bit of shaman, a riot of colour, unreasonable guitar, bass and drums, and tunes you can hold onto. Because if people are gonna show up, we certainly are.”
The tour will kick off on February 23rd, 2027 in Mexico City with support from Beck. So far, they’ve only announced dates in São Paulo, Brazil and Buenos Aires, Argentina, but European and further North American dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
The announcement coincides with the release of the third single from Carnaval de Luz. “The Greatest Show on Earth” was co-written by Bono and Brian Eno and tells the story of lovers fighting to keep faith in each other. Clayton keeps a throbbing pulse as the song crescendos over five minutes.
