The Main Squeeze is back with another cover, and this time they really make it their own. In this clip, they take on Led Zeppelin’s “No Quarter”, with Rob Walker on bass.

This time around, we’re checking out a unique hybrid of a bass, thanks to Gary Shea, who shares the story of his 1965 L Series Fender Jazz Bass with a 60’s Precision Neck. Gary has been happily playing it for nearly 50 years.

No Treble attended the 2019 Winter NAMM Show to get the scoop on the bass gear announcements for the year. While it takes some time to cover it all, we’re thrilled to share this recap from the show.

Elephant Gym performed in Chicago last month for Audiotree Live. The band is described as “an instrumental math/post-rock trio with heavy jazz and classical influences.” Bassist KT Chang’s presence in the band is strong, with some fantastic playing and technique.

Meet Federico Pecoraro, a busy bassist living in Brussels who once played drums in support of his bass playing dad before switching to bass himself.

I love it when there’s a new video by The Marcus King Band. In this clip, the band performs “Goodbye Carolina,” which is backed by bassist Stephen Campbell. The tune starts out soft and sweet before the band kicks things into a nice groove.

Lenny Kravitz hit the stage at the 2019 Lollapalooza Argentina, along with long-time bassist, Gail Ann Dorsey. Gail Ann comes through loud and clear on the driving bass line, with her always great backup vocals in the mix.

Back in January, I discovered (late) that Edie Brickell and New Bohemians had a new album out. I immediately bought the LP and spin it regularly. I especially love the work of bassist Brad Houser on the album. Here’s another clip from their appearance at the WFUV studios, and another song from their album, “Rocket.”

Andrea Balasso shared another video of him playing music from his album, “Time To Leave,” and we’re really digging this one. “Settembre Ottobre” features some funky playing by Andrea on fretless, as well as a beautiful solo.

Back in 2010, when No Treble was still quite young, we featured a video by Michael Pipoquinha, who was 13 at the time. Here’s a new one, with him performing “Teen Town” with the Latvian Radio Big Band. It has been an amazing journey to watch!
