I’ve been spinning Khruangbin on vinyl a lot lately, which set me on a path to find more videos by the band. I found this one of the band performing on NPR Music’s “Tiny Desk Concert” in 2018. Laura Lee and the band didn’t disappoint.
Little Big Beat Studios just shared this video of Simon Phillips and the “Protocol 4” version of his band. And this is one stellar lineup, including Ernest Tibbs on bass, Greg Howe on guitar, and Otmaro Ruiz on keyboards.
Mohini Dey shared this video recently, and once again, we’re blown away. Check out Mohini and the band tear it up on Alex Giallombardo’s "Squared Marbles."
We’ve featured many videos by Karl Clews over the years, with some killer covers. This time around, he shared an original composition with us – and one that comes with some added news.
WFUV is at SXSW, and they’re publishing all kinds of great music from the festival. In this clip, Barrie performs their tune, “Habits” from the Hotel San José. Sabine Holler serves the song well on bass and backing vocals.
I’m a huge fan of The Main Squeeze and their incredible covers. In this clip, the band takes on Procol Harum’s hit song, “A Whiter Shade of Pale,” with Rob Walker laying down some seriously tasty lines.
I’m always impressed with Stuart Clayton’s “Giants of Bass” video series. The companion to his books by the same name, Stuart breaks down the styles of various bassists with an original piece. Check out his piece, “A Portrait of Jaco”
Meet Juan R Leon, a multi-instrumentalist from Orlando, Florida, who got his start on the bass thanks to John Entwistle and “The Kids Are Alright.” Here’s his story…
Kevin sent me this video and was quite excited about Robert “Bubby” Lewis’s playing in this live performance on the Roland Stage at the Winter NAMM 2019 show. After watching it, I completely agree.
Time to roundup another great collection of bass videos. Here are the top 10 most watched videos on No Treble for the month of February 2019.
