The folks at the Jaco Pastorius Archive sent us this digitally remastered clip of Jaco Pastorius and his Word of Mouth Big Band performing at the North Sea Jazz Festival on July 10, 1983. It sounds incredible.

While I love spinning Snarky Puppy’s “Empire Central” on vinyl, I also love watching their videos of the live recording session. The band just dropped a new video for “Portal.”

Musician/producer Filippo Bubbico enlisted bassist Federico Malaman for this collaboration. “Weird Funk Crazy Song” has Federico playing two bass tracks – traditional and lead.

Evan Marien shared a video focusing on the excellent work of Jimmy Johnson, and in particular, a great fill he played during a live performance of “You’ve Got A Friend” with James Taylor.
